WHAT MAKES GREEK YOGURT RANCH DRESSING A HEALTHY CHOICE?

Swap out the fat, sugar, sodium, and additives that you see in dressing found on a grocery store shelf for ingredients like almond milk, apple cider vinegar, and coconut sugar. With just a few ingredients in this recipe, you can create your new favorite Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing in just minutes.

You’ll never look back, I know that!

Easy to make, this is a go-to dressing or dip that you can serve over a salad or with crunchy, kid-friendly veggies like carrots and celery. It’s great as a side to potato wedges and chicken or fish, and it’s fancy enough to be company-worthy, too!

HOW CAN I MAKE GREEK YOGURT RANCH DRESSING DAIRY FREE?

I bet you are wondering if you can eat Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing if you are lactose intolerant. There are a couple of easy options for tackling this.

If you have just a slight intolerance to lactose, then Greek yogurt is just the ticket. It contains only 4 grams of lactose per 6-ounce container, compared to the 12 grams found in the same serving size of milk.

A neat fact about Greek yogurt is that the probiotics found in it help you to process lactose. But, if you want to cut out lactose altogether, there are several brands of 100% lactose-free Greek yogurts on the market, too. Remember, this powerhouse food is a potent mix of nutrients that will boost your clean living ratio big time!

Alternatively, replace the Greek yogurt altogether with a plant-based product made with almonds, coconut, or even plantains.

BEST HEALTHY INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTIONS FOR RANCH DRESSING

This recipe, soon to be your new favorite, knocks out to the park several unhealthy ingredients:

  • Dairy: If you don’t think you can tolerate dairy at all, you can replace the Greek yogurt with a plain, unsweetened, plant-based yogurt. Doing so gives this recipe the thumbs up for vegans, too.
  • Sour Cream and Mayo: Looking for a way to cut a few calories? This recipe ticks all the boxes by replacing the typical ingredients of sour cream and mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Granulated Sugar: Coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index than highly-processed granulated sugar does, which means you lose the energy-sapping sugar spikes.

Speaking of substitutions, if you love, love the pungent aroma of fresh garlic, swap out the ¼ teaspoon of powder for 1 small, fresh garlic clove.

CAN GREEK YOGURT RANCH DRESSING BE MADE THE DAY BEFORE?

Yes, you can prepare Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing the day before. Not only does it retain its just-made freshness, but making it 24 hours or more before serving allows the flavors to blend and become even more savory. Then, you can delightfully top any dish with a portion of this rave-worthy dressing.

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP GREEK YOGURT RANCH DRESSING?

This recipe stays fresh and tangy in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Add a dose of goodness to your kids’ after-school snack of veggie sticks and fruit slices. Or use it alongside any main meal dish as the perfect busy night addition to your meal.

So, if you strive for clean eating in the kitchen, or simply want a nourishing way to tackle the family’s hunger attack at the end of the day, add a dollop or two of this super tasting ranch dressing to any plate.
